What Is Your Ideal Workout Time?

0830131123What is your favorite time to workout? Is there an ideal time? There seem to be as many different perspectives on this question as there are people. Let’s look at a few.

Some people feel first thing in the morning is the ideal time to work out. It is a way to jump start your day by kicking up your metabolism so you are burning calories at a faster rate through the day. It also gives you a burst of energy to help you get moving. I like to workout first thing because then I know I will get my workout in no matter what else happens during the day.

Some people like a mid-day workout. This is a way to pump up your energy in the middle of the day and keep you moving through the afternoon. It can help you refocus and bring a fresh perspective to the rest of the day as well.

Some people like to end their day with a workout. This can be a great way to work off any stress you accumulated through the day and help you relax for the evening. It can give you something to look forward to after a day behind a desk.

From my perspective working out at any time of the day is fine as long as you do something consistently. The benefits of working out include helping you burn more calories, boosting your energy, clearing your head and helping you focus. It is important to remember to start with something light if you have not worked out for a while, like a brisk walk, and gradually increase distance, intensity, and variety. Ultimately, 30 to 40 minutes of cardio 3 to 4 days a week is a good goal.

When do you like to schedule your workouts? I would love to hear from you in the comments below.
